Registration is NOW OPEN for our 20th Annual Hike for Hospice!
This year, we will join thousands of Canadians on the first Sunday in May to participate in the national Hike for Hospice Palliative Care and celebrate our 20th Anniversary Toronto Hike for Hospice from April 2nd – May 1st, 2022. We have partnered again with Philip Aziz Centre | Emily’s House and Virtual Photo Walks to bring you 3 virtual hike events April 2nd, 9th and 24th and a planned in-person hike finale event on Sunday May 1st to raise funds and awareness for hospice palliative care in our community.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, demand for services like social work, grief and bereavement supports, and respite care has increased. Communities have developed new needs caused by limited mobility, food insecurity, social isolation, and reduced access to in-person services. Many organizations, including us, have had to adapt and do things a little differently. As a result, Hospice Toronto remains committed to protecting the health and safety of our clients, volunteers, students, and staff. We will continue to meet the needs of our communities through a hybrid of telephone/virtual support and in-person services where physical distancing can be adhered to. Where possible (and as the weather improves) we encourage outside visits/grocery drop offs. We have adapted to offer programming that meets the changing needs of our clients during these difficult times – but we need your support to strengthen and keep these programs going.
We invite you to register on or after Friday March 4th to fundraise and get ready to join us on May 1st for our hike at Riverdale Park West in Cabbagetown*.
