DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \n\nRegistrations opening on Friday March 10th 2023 for our 21st Annual Hike for Hospice!\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nIn previous years\, thousands of Canadians have gathered together on the first Sunday in May across Canada to participate in the national Hike for Hospice to kick off the National Hospice & Palliative Care Awareness Week. With the pandemic we got creative through a virtual Hike but now we’re ready to be 100% back in the park. Hospice Toronto has again partnered with Philip Aziz Centre / Emily’s House to bring you our 21st Annual Toronto Partners Hike for Hospice on Sunday May 7th to raise funds and awareness for hospice palliative care in our community.\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nSunday\, May 7th\, 2023\nRiverdale Park West (Cabbagetown)\nRegistration opens 9:00AM\nHike begins 11:00AM\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nChildren’s Fun-Zone\nTemporary Tattoo artist\nEntertainment by Danny Marks\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nWhile Covid has become more manageable overall\, demand for services like social work\, grief and bereavement supports\, and respite care has continued to increase. Communities have developed new needs caused by limited mobility\, food insecurity\, social isolation\, and reduced access to in-person services. Many organizations\, including Hospice Toronto\, have had to adapt and do things a little differently to meet those needs.\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nDespite many challenges\, we remain committed to serving our clients\, residents and their families\, while keeping everyone safe. Our hospice staff and volunteers have risen to the challenge by providing support groups and one-on-one services virtually through phone or video conferencing when unable to enter people’s homes.
