As a caregiver, it is important that you look after yourself as well as your loved one. The following resources and organizations may be able to offer you support or help you find support in your community.
Canadian Caregiver Coalition
The national voice for the needs and interests of family caregivers. A bilingual, not-for-profit organization made up of caregivers, caregiver support groups, national stakeholder organizations and researchers.
A series of 16 new how-to videos to support family and professional caregivers with common caregiving tasks. Watch professionals give step-by-step demonstrations such as safely giving a bed bath , turning someone in bed, and giving medications.
Ontario Association of Ontario Community Care Access Centres (OACCAC)
Community Care Access Centres are comprised of 14 local CCAC organizations across the province to manage local care. CCACs are funded and legislated by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, and are connectors to home care, long-term care destinations, and other services in your community.
OCSA members are Ontario community based, not-for-profit organizations that provide services to help people live at home.
This website has been developed by all three orders of government, with seniors, making it easier for older adults to access information, programs and services.
