Legacy Giving

Legacy Giving / Leave a Gift in Your Will

We all have a story to tell and a legacy to leave. What, when, and how we give makes a difference—both to us and to the loved ones we care for.

Planned Giving options provide income or potential savings now and in the future. We invite you to explore your options below:

Hospice Toronto recommends that you seek professional advice form your financial advisor to determine the method of giving that will be most tax-effective for you.

What Is a Planned Gift?

A planned gift is any major gift made in a donor’s lifetime or at death as part of their overall financial and/or estate planning. There are many ways to support Hospice Toronto through Planned Giving Options:

  • Bequest: This is a notice of a gift that has been left in someone’s will to a person or a charity.
  • Insurance: This is the act of taking out a life insurance policy naming a charity as the beneficiary.
  • RRSP / RRIF: This is an option whereby charities can be added as the beneficiary of the balance of an RRSP or RRIF. Please note that this money does NOT go through probate.

Please be sure to let us know if you have included Hospice Toronto in your will or intend to make a legacy gift by sending us a letter of your intentions, or by contacting our development team at 416.364.1666 ext. 242.

Thank you for leaving your legacy to Hospice Toronto.
